Terms of Use

The Electronic Hallway is administered by the University of Washington's Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs. The use of Electronic Hallway materials is subject to the terms of the membership agreement and terms of use.

Membership

Only faculty and instructors in public administration and related fields, as well government agencies who use materials in their training programs, are eligible to subscribe to the Electronic Hallway. Students should not have unrestricted access to the case parts and teaching materials.

By accepting the membership agreement, you agree to access and use the materials provided by the Electronic Hallway solely for educational, classroom, or research purposes. This agreement extends only to the member, and the member agrees not to allow anyone else access to their username and password and agrees to be liable for any misuse of that username and password that may result from a violation of this agreement.

Distributing and Re-Publishing

Currently registered members of the Electronic Hallway are authorized to download, store, copy, and distribute Hallway materials for the length of their paid membership. However this information may only be distributed to employees or students who are associated with the member. In addition, you may post materials to a website course page, though it needs to be password protected. With all Hallway materials, you have the option of printing a permission to copy letter that allows you to copy materials you have downloaded for instructional use. The permission to copy letter is valid for the duration of your paid membership.

Copyright is retained by the authors of the cases. If you would like to re-publish a case in a book or other print material, please contact the case author directly to request permission.

Comment Policy

The comment feature has been designed to promote robust discussions about cases and teaching methods. Comments may be used to share information about how you have used a particular case in the classroom or as a venue to ask for advice about teaching a specific case. Comments by our members represent the opinions and ideas of the member posting, and not those of the Electronic Hallway. The Electronic Hallway welcomes comments and feedback so long as it follows the guidelines of our terms of use policy, and we reserve the right to moderate comments that violate the terms of use. Please refrain from using libelous, defamatory, obscene, and/or abusive material, or material that is copyright protected and otherwise illegal material. In addition, postings may not be used for spam, commercial purposes, or to solicit funds.

Comments and questions relating to feedback on case content, issues with the website, and other non-teaching items may be sent to the Electronic Hallway staff at hallhelp@uw.edu.
